ANGLET

Anglet is a large commercial town, with two coastal quartiers "Chiberta and Chambre d'Amour", both with long expanses of sandy surfing beaches which are part of the Cote Basque.

Anglet centre (located between the two large towns of Biarritz 5kms South and Bayonne 3kms North, with all three forming what is called locally the BAB (Bayonne-Anglet-Biarritz)) still holds its original Village charm, with the church and the Mairie on a large paved square. 1Km North of the old village is large commercial centre, which has several large hypermarkets (supermarkets) where you can buy everything.

2kms North West of Anglet centre is Chiberta, where large Basque and modern residences nestle with in the Pine Tree Glades, the rambling 18 hole Chiberta Golf course, Sea, Beaches and Sand Dunes, here also are the homes of the Anglet Thermes, Tennis Club, Equestrian centre, Natural Park "Foret du Pignada", Ice Skating Rink and Marinas, plus 2, 3 & 4 star Hotels.

Chambre d'Amour, 2kms West of Anglet centre, has Houses, Apartments, Studios and smaller Hotels, with Bars and Restaurants along the shore line, a more commercial seaside resort, so to speak (not to be mistaken, the same as Biarritz), a young family resort, this is also where the Anglet Surfing Competitions and Exhibitions are held annually.
